As a drummer, accounting nerd, and the founder of a virtual education enterprise — I’m thrilled to teach about Quickbooks, a small business accounting platform known for being incredibly useful yet often misunderstood.

In 2021, the Ole Miss business school entrusted me to design a course that would bridge the gap between accounting theory and understanding Quickbooks. This course was handcrafted to demystify small business accounting practices, and render Quickbooks a more comfortable tool for students. By the end of the semester, I aim to prepare you to become a certified Quickbooks user, should you choose to take that path.

With two Ole Miss accountancy degrees (class of 2017) and experience tutoring over 1,500 students, I've learned to innovate my approach to online learning for students. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I pivoted my in-person tutoring company into Survive Accounting, a top-tier online study platform now serving accounting students nationwide.

Drawing from my five years of experience as a bookkeeping consultant, I've had the opportunity to assist, manage, and create Quickbooks files from scratch for 7 small and medium-sized businesses. I've worked with local businesses in Oxford and even a remote client in New York City. I share these experiences with the hope that it inspires some of you to consider a similar path. It can be a valuable side income source and a way to add significant value to any business looking to delegate their accounting.

I'm truly grateful for my journey, and it's an honor and joy to share my insights with you as your entrepreneurship professor.
